Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke released the following statement in celebration of Chanukkah, which starts on the evening of Tuesday, December 16, 2014:

"As families of Jewish faith gather to celebrate "the Festival of Light,' I would like -- on behalf of the people of the Ninth Congressional District of New York -- to wish the Jewish communities of Brooklyn a Happy Chanukkah. As we celebrate this holiday, let us remember to share our light with the world. Tonight, we affirm our belief that the good will always prevail over evil and that our light will always overcome the darkness. In commemoration of the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, we dedicate ourselves to the virtue of our traditions. Chag Sameiach! Happy Chanukkah to one and all!"
