Cramer Accepting Student Entries in Congressional Art Competition

Today Congressman Kevin Cramer announced his office is accepting student entries for the 2015 Congressional Art Competition. Each spring, this nationwide high school art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The winning entry from North Dakota will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

The competition is open to public, private, and home-schooled students in grades 9 to 12. Exceptions may be made for students in the 7th and 8th grades on the same campus as a high school. To enter the competition, students are asked to submit their entries to the North Dakota Juried Student Art Show at the Taube Museum of Art in Minot no later than Tuesday, March 31st at 5:30pm.

Their work will be on display at the Taube Museum from April 7th to May 1st. At this time, professional artists chosen by the Taube Museum of Art will chose one winning entry to represent the state of North Dakota on display in the U.S. Capitol. The winner will also be invited to a reception in Washington, DC at the Capitol Visitors Center.

Recent winners of the Congressional art competition include Alizjah Swenson from Grand Forks Central High School in 2014, and Mandy Marboe from Dickinson High School in 2013.
