Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District released the following statement on the passage of a tax extender package which includes provisions of the Titus sponsored bill H.R.3242 to reinstate the federal tax credit for filmmakers:
"Today, I voted to pass a package of expired tax provisions that includes a number of important provisions for families in Nevada," said Titus. "The legislation includes a one year extension of the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act as well as a critical provision that allows residents of Nevada to deduct sales taxes from their federal tax returns. This package also includes legislation I introduced to extend the film tax credit to encourage filming and create jobs in Las Vegas. However, I am disappointed that these extensions will be obsolete in a matter of weeks - Congress should work together to create certainty on taxes for families and businesses."
