Rep. Welch Appoints New State Officer Director

Rep. Peter Welch announced today the appointment of Mr. George Twigg as director of his Vermont office operations. Twigg replaces Welch's long time state director, Ms. Patricia Coates, who took a senior position last month with Vermont State Colleges. He will begin work in the Welch office on March 8.

Twigg, a resident of Underhill, Vermont, has served since 2008 as Director of Public Affairs for the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) where he managed legislative and media affairs for the Burlington-based sustainable energy company. Prior to joining VEIC, he spent 10 years working in Wisconsin for the state legislature and the mayor of Madison. He also served as state director for Senator John Kerry's presidential campaign.

"George is an outstanding addition to our constituent service team. He brings with him a wealth of experience in public affairs, energy policy, and communications and we look forward to having him on board," said Welch.

Welch's Vermont office is located in Burlington's Innovation Center at 128 Lakeside Avenue, Suite 235.
