Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement after she voted against H.R. 240, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill.

"Republican leaders continue to jeopardize our nation's security by playing politics with Homeland Security funding," Rep. Lujan Grisham said. "Instead of passing a clean funding bill, Republicans passed legislation that tears families apart, deports thousands of DREAMers and minimizes domestic violence victims. This is exactly the type of gamesmanship that Americans are sick and tired of seeing from their elected leaders. They want us to get serious and work in a bipartisan fashion to protect our country and address vital issues like reforming our broken immigration system. It's time for the political games to end."
