Statement

I am happy to see that my colleague, Senator Rand Paul, has reintroduced the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act. It is incredibly important for each American to not suffer from the Obama Administration's job-destroying rules and regulations. In Congress, it is our job to oversee federal agencies and protect the American people from potentially damaging rules and regulations. The REINS Act, if passed, will do just that -- give American people a voice and a chance to hold federal agencies accountable for regulations that have continued to destroy our economy. The bill will force the executive branch to report to Congress and block any regulation that could be damaging to South Carolinians and the rest of our nation.

I am honored to continue my support for this bill as an original cosponsor, and I am highly confident that it will get passed this time around with hopes of bipartisan support. It is time to say no to big government and quit playing politics. I support the REINS Act because it represents the principles of every hardworking American.
