Quigley Visits Global Manufacturer in Effort to Improve Business Climate

Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley (IL-05) visited Fresenius Kabi, a global health care company with operations in Melrose Park, as part of an ongoing effort to highlight the manufacturing industry in Illinois. Fresenius Kabi is a global health care company that specializes in lifesaving medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition.

"Today, the manufacturing industry is growing twice as fast as the rest of the economy, with nearly 800,000 jobs being added to the manufacturing industry in the last six years. I'm excited to highlight the great manufacturers we have right here in Chicago. Not only is Fresenius Kabi supporting good paying jobs in Chicago, they are manufacturing lifesaving products, including vital medicines used to treat cancer and other conditions," said Rep. Quigley. "Thanks to the innovative work being conducted by Fresenius Kabi and other members of the Illinois Manufacturers' Association (IMA), we are showing businesses in America and around the world that Illinois is the place to be. I appreciate the hard work of Fresenius Kabi and IMA as we continue to advocate our shared vision of economic growth and prosperity in Illinois."

During the visit, Rep. Quigley met with leaders of Fresenius Kabi's Melrose Park and U.S. headquarters locations and toured their pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Melrose Park.
