Cramer Statement on Air Force Approval of Powder River Training Complex Expansion

Today Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement after he spoke with Air Force officials who informed him of their decision regarding the expansion of the Powder River Training Complex, which covers southwestern North Dakota and parts of Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming:

"I hear a lot from local stakeholders about their concerns with this expansion, and worked with the Air Force and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to address them. I'm pleased by the Air Force's accommodations to the concerns raised, and hope for successful implementation which provides adequate training and enough flexibility to ensure minimal impacts on other uses of the airspace."

The FAA is expected to issue its record of decision within 45 days and the new training complex established in the spring or summer of 2015.
