Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Transportation

Today Congressman Kevin Cramer announced BNSF Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) have publicly filed updated weekly grain backlog status updates as required by the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB). A summary of the reporting data specific to North Dakota for the last 10 weeks is below.

"While we should be cautious in our optimism given the continued high demand for rail cars throughout North Dakota, I am encouraged by the significant reductions in the backlog made by both rail companies. CP has essentially eliminated their backlog, and BNSF is reporting their shuttle fleet had its best week in the past three months, averaging over 297 miles per day," said Cramer.
