Today Congressman Kevin Cramer issued the following statement after EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy stated her agency will likely make changes to the deadlines for states to comply within the Clean Power Plan, which sets individual state limits on carbon dioxide emissions from power plants:
"It seems the EPA and President Obama are finally admitting what many of us have been saying all along. The Clean Power Plan is a disastrous proposal which threatens the reliability of the electric grid. Perhaps if the EPA would have been in contact with other federal agencies including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) sooner, they could have saved themselves some embarrassment. I look forward to seeing what results from the FERC's planned technical conference on Thursday, which will closely examine the risks of this sweeping new regulatory scheme."
