Fleming Votes to Repeal Obamacare

Statement

Congressman John Fleming, M.D., issued the following statement after voting for H.R. 596, a bill To Repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act:

"I am working to make today's vote the first step toward restoring real choice to people's health care. The president's signature law has cost people their policies and physicians, has driven up health insurance premiums and deductibles, and has even forced some businesses to cut hours for some of their employees. Today the House voted to stand with the American people, who overwhelmingly disapprove of Obamacare, and next month the U.S. Supreme Court will hear a challenge that could lead to the demise of Obamacare. In addition, I'm gathering signatures for a letter to Speaker Boehner calling on him to use a process that would prevent Senate Democrats from blocking a repeal vote. These are all important steps in getting us to a place where we can finally end Obamacare, address health care costs, and restore patient-centered health care."

Note: The Obamacare repeal bill passed the House today by a vote of 239-186.
