Rokita Reintroduces CHOICE Act During National School Choice Week

Representative Todd Rokita, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education, along with Representatives Luke Messer, Ron DeSantis, and Trey Gowdy, introduced the Creating Hope and Opportunities for Individuals and Communities through Education (CHOICE) Act today to coincide with National School Choice Week.

"All students deserve access to a quality education, so they can build better lives for themselves, and eventually for their families. The CHOICE Act takes important strides to expand flexibility in education, especially for non-traditional students. Instead of further empowering federal bureaucrats far removed from the classroom, this bill puts parents and students back in the driver's seat." said Rokita.

The CHOICE Act will expand educational opportunities for students from military families, low-income families, and the disabled receiving educational services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina also introduced the companion legislation in the Senate today.
