Ryan Zinke Statement on the Powder River Training Complex Air Space Expansion

Statement

Date: Jan. 16, 2015

Today the Air Force made recommendations to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to expand the air space around the Powder River Training Complex in southeastern Montana. The following statement is from Congressman Ryan Zinke.

"It is deeply troubling that the Air Force hastily released their recommendations to expand the Powder River air space to the FAA without fully weighing the concerns of the local communities. I have said all along that Montanans need to have a seat at the table. There is certainly a way for the Air Force to maintain effective pilot training while still addressing the legitimate concerns of the impacted communities in the region. Local communities rely on this airspace for emergency services, agriculture, general aviation and commerce -- adding uncertainty is not an option. I urge the FAA to reconsider this ill-advised decision."
