Duckworth Diary: December 19th, 2014

Press Release

Date: Dec. 19, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Transportation

Dear Neighbors,

This week, I wrote a letter to the Department of Transportation in support for Pace's Regional arterial and express bus rapid transit deployment project. This initiative has major benefits for our District including improved job access, reduced traffic congestion, less pollution, safer communing, and reduced local tax burden.

Earlier this month, I was proud to introduce the resolution for the designation of National Federal Nurse Recognition Week with Rep. Jan Schakowsky. Our nurses do so much for families and loved ones, and it is important that we recognize their hard work and commitment to our communities.

Hanukkah began on Tuesday, and I wished a Happy Hanukkah holiday to all.

On Wednesday, we held our last Satellite Office Hours for my first Congressional term. Stay tuned for our next satellite office hours in January, and in the meantime reach out to my District Office in Schaumburg if you need assistance.

I was pleased to see the Senate pass the ABLE Act. This important piece of legislation that helps our neighbors with disabilities will now go to the President's desk to be signed into law.

I hope you are having a great week.

Sincerely,

Congresswoman Duckworth
