Labrador Committee Assignments Include New Natural Resources Oversight Panel

Rep. Raúl Labrador, R-Idaho, is pleased to announce his committee assignments for the 114th Congress, which continue his service on two committees that help address issues vital to Idaho and the nation.

Labrador remains on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Natural Resources Committee, with new leadership roles as vice chairman of two subcommittees.

On Judiciary, Labrador has been named vice chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security. He remains on the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security and Investigations.

The newly formed Natural Resources Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations has been charged by full Committee Chairman Rob Bishop, R-Utah, with sharpening oversight of executive branch actions and regulations. Labrador is vice chairman of the new panel.

Labrador sits on two other the Natural Resource subcommittees: Energy and Mineral Resources and Federal Lands.

"The burden of federal regulation impedes economic growth in Idaho and the West," Labrador said. "My membership on the new Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will give Idaho a strong voice in assuring the Administration doesn't overstep its authority.

"I'm also gratified to take a leadership role on the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security. Reform putting border security first has been my goal since I was elected. As this Congress moves toward repairing a broken system, I will be on the front lines."
