Fischer Applauds Grant Release for Nebraska Veterans Home

U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement after the announcement by the Department of Veterans Affairs of $5 Million in Grants for the new Central Nebraska Veterans Home:

"Last night I was pleased to learn that Nebraska has been allocated $5 million in federal grants to begin construction of the new VA facility in central Nebraska. This is an important first step in a process that has been years in the making."

"Our veterans deserve the finest care and treatment after sacrificing so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. That's why I'm grateful to DHHS Director of Veterans Homes John Hilgert for his leadership in this effort. Ensuring that our veterans receive the quality benefits they earned will always be a top priority and I look forward to seeing this effort through to its completion."

Last night, the Department of Veterans Affairs informed the Nebraska DHHS Division of Veterans Homes that they have been awarded the first of a series of grants for the new Central Nebraska Veterans Home. Nebraska will receive partial funding for this project this year and see additional funds allotted over the coming years.
