Peters Statement on Detroit's Exit From Bankruptcy

Today, U.S. Representative Gary Peters (MI-14) released the following statement on Detroit's exit from Chapter 9 bankruptcy:

"Detroit laid the foundation for our state and our nation's middle class, and these first actions to exit bankruptcy mark an important step toward rebuilding our city and its bright future. As we emerge from this difficult time in the city's history, we must recognize the significant sacrifices of Detroiters and the determined leadership and hard work of all the parties who came together to ensure a successful restructuring. The resiliency and perseverance that the people of Detroit and Michigan have shown throughout this process will help our city continue to grow and prosper.
