Governor Hassan Directs Flags to Half-Staff on December 7 in Honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

In honor of the 73rd anniversary of the horrific attack on the United States at Pearl Harbor and to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of those who were at Pearl Harbor on that day, Governor Maggie Hassan has proclaimed Sunday, December 7, 2014, as Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day in New Hampshire and directed flags to half-staff.

"On December 7, 1941, the course of history for our great nation and the world was forever changed with the horrific attack at Pearl Harbor," Governor Hassan said. "Every year, this day marks a solemn occasion and an opportunity to pay tribute to the people who were killed and those who survived that infamous day. Because of their sacrifices, our country and the world are safer and freer. We will be forever grateful for their service and the service of the millions more who defended our country in the Second World War, advancing the enduring concept of freedom that is our core."

In honor of the individuals who sacrificed at Pearl Harbor, Governor Hassan has directed flags to half-staff on Sunday, December 7, 2014.
