Location: Washington, DC

Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert) led a bipartisan letter to Dr. Carolyn M. Clancy, the Interim Under Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on the Ebola preparedness of VA medical facilities across the country.

"It is critical that our VA hospitals and VA medical facilities apply the lessons learned from the past months and implement the highest standards of care to ensure the safety of our veterans and VA health care professionals," said Dr. Ruiz. "VA health care facilities serve more than eight million veterans across the country and thousands right here in the Coachella Valley each year. It is critical they are prepared and equipped to identify and contain any instance of Ebola within the VA health care system."
