Daines: Iran Must Permanently Dismantle Nuclear Capabilities

Statement

Representative Steve Daines today issued the following statement on the United States' ongoing P5+1 nuclear negotiations with Iran:

"With the interim agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program ending on November 24th, I call on the Obama Administration to demand that any new agreement thoroughly and permanently dismantle Iran's capacity to build a nuclear weapon. Simply delaying or postponing the development of such a weapon is not acceptable, as a nuclear Iran poses a significant threat not only to our national security, but that of Israel and our allies around the world. More, the President must ensure that existing sanctions are not lifted unless such capabilities are fully removed and a rigorous and independent inspection protocol is implemented."
