Virginia Foxx, North Carolina's trusted voice for conservative solutions.

Tonight the voters of the Fifth Congressional District exercised their Constitutional right to let their voices be heard. They spoke decisively in favor of commonsense solutions and conservative values.

I'm humbled and grateful that so many North Carolina voters chose to send me to represent them in Washington once again.

In the last session of Congress, I fought hard for solutions that work and that will make life better for all Americans. For instance, I guided the SKILLS Act into law, which will help equip North Carolina workers with updated, 21st century skills for well-paying jobs. I'm proud that this commonsense, nonpartisan legislation will solve problems AND reduce wasteful government spending.

No campaign is ever possible without the scores of volunteers, friends and family toiling behind the scenes. That's why I'm so grateful for my family's support and for the many faithful volunteers and countless others who lent us a hand along the way to victory. Without these dedicated and talented people, today's win would not have been possible. I give them my profound thanks for their role in our decisive win.

As we gear up for a new session of Congress, North Carolinians can know that I will continue to work on their behalf to make government more accountable, more efficient and more transparent. I will oppose ill-conceived big government policies and champion those that will make life better for all Americans without growing government or the national deficit. I will fight for secure borders, strong national security and a military that is well-prepared and well-equipped for the threats we face.

It's an honor to represent the people of northwest North Carolina. I promise to work hard to represent them well and to uphold and defend our Constitution.
