DeSantis: Gruber Should Return the $400,000 He Received for His "Work" on ObamaCare

Press Release

Date: Nov. 13, 2014
Location: St. Augustine, FL

In light of a recently discovered video showing Jonathan Gruber bragging that a "lack of transparency" and the "stupidity of the American voter" were "critical" to passing ObamaCare, Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-06) is calling on Gruber to return the $400,000 of taxpayer money that he received in consulting fees. DeSantis issued the following statement:

"ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber's comments paint a disturbing picture of a man willing to concoct deception after deception in order to cram an unpopular health law through Congress. Gruber displays an appalling contempt for the American people, a contempt that is all the more troubling given that he was richly rewarded with $400,000 in taxpayer dollars for his so-called consulting services. To receive hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayer funds in exchange for lying to the public is simply unacceptable. I call on Jonathan Gruber to return the $400,000 he has amassed as a result of his questionable conduct."
