Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert) issued the following statement in observance of Veterans Day. Dr. Ruiz is a member of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs. He is also a member of the Congressional Veterans Jobs Caucus.

"Today we honor and remember the men and women of our armed forces who served, who sacrificed, and who gave their lives in the defense of our nation, our freedom, and our security around the globe.

"Veterans Day is a solemn reminder that peace and security come at a high cost. We must come together to embrace our service members, veterans, and their families and recommit ourselves as a nation to work toward a better future for those who served."
