Dear Neighbors,
This week, the Greater Chicago Food Depository opened a food pantry for Veterans in partnership with Hines VA Hospital. This food pantry is available to any Veteran or family member in need, and will take place every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m in the Hines Auditorium. I'm glad to see our community members working together to help our Vets.
Our office hosted Satellite Office Hours this week in East Dundee, Mount Prospect and Elk Grove Village. We will host three more sets of satellite office hours for the year. The next office hours will be in Elgin, Hanover Park and Addison on November 19th. You can view all of the details here.
On Wednesday, the Department of Health and Human Services announced a grant for the American Academy of Pediatrics based in Elk Grove Village. This grant will be used to support evidence-based childhood obesity treatment and improve access and systems of care.
After hearing complaints from constituents that their O'Hare noise concerns aren't being heard, I sent a letter with my colleagues Rep. Quigley and Rep. Schakowsky to the Chicago Department of Aviation. We asked them to set up a telephone hotline dedicated to O'Hare noise that accurately and compassionately responds to complaints.

I am proud to be your representative in Congress. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address issues like comprehensive immigration reform, raising the minimum wage and promoting an education system that prepares our young people for the science and technology jobs of the future.
I hope you are having a great week.
Sincerely,
Congresswoman Duckworth
