Rokita States Case for Third Term at Crawfordsville Candidate Forum

At Crawfordsville High School tonight, Republican Todd Rokita, running against John Dale for Indiana's 4th District Congressional seat, showed he was the best choice to represent Hoosier families. The Montgomery County League of Women Voters and Chamber of Commerce sponsored their candidate forum.

The Congressman, a member of the House Budget Committee, also Chairman of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education, stayed positive. "Hoosier families know best how to spend their money and raise their children," he said. "Washington needs more of our common-sense."

In Congress, Rokita has helped to pass four balanced budgets and School Choice legislation. "If elected, I'll continue to work for free-market solutions to government-run health care," he added.Rokita supports the American Health Care Reform Act, replacing ObamaCare with patient-centered reforms. His Student Success Act limits federal Common Core learning standards that Dale, a Democrat and teachers union member, supports.

Rokita described his heavy presence in the 4th district. "Since 2011, I've driven 100,000 miles across all of its counties and hosted over 300 events, including nearly 80 town halls and similar events."

"I'm fighting for all people, so they can build better lives for themselves and their families," the candidate told the audience.

Rokita is Indiana's former two-term Secretary of State, the youngest in the nation at the time. Voters elected him to Congress in 2010 and 2012 to bring Indiana's budget and education reforms to the federal level.
