Statement

Date: Oct. 30, 2014

Issues: Foreign Affairs

Through its lack of strategy in foreign affairs dealings the Obama administration has shown that it clearly underestimates and under appreciates Israel as America's main Middle Eastern ally.

"If President Obama won't stand by Israel, then the US Congress must make it clear and unequivocal that the United States of America will," said Zinke in response to the Obama administrations reaction to an insult targeted at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Israel is our main ally in the Middle East. We need to work to strengthen our relationship with Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu," said Zinke. "The Obama administration needs to apologize for what was said. Our ongoing relationship with Israel is too important to allow this affront on an ally to go un addressed."
