Griffin Honored by National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) today issued the following statement after he attended the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society Leadership Council/Government Relations Committee Meeting where he received an award for his role on the Congressional MS Caucus and was recognized for his support of Arkansans affected by MS:

"I'm honored to be recognized by the National MS Society and appreciate their dedication to increasing and improving medical research to help individuals affected by MS. We must continue efforts to increase awareness and invest in resources to find a cure."

Congressman Griffin is a proud member of the Congressional MS Caucus, a forum for Members of Congress to discuss critical health care, disability and research issues affecting those living with MS. MS is a debilitating disease of the central nervous system, interrupting the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body. More than 2.3 million people worldwide live with MS. The exact cause is still unknown, and there is no cure.

Congressman Griffin has written numerous letters to the House Committee on Appropriations expressing support for important research programs that have led to incredible advancements in our understanding, diagnosis and treatment of diseases like MS.
