U.S. Representative Sean Duffy (WI-07) released the following statement following his vote against arming the Syrian rebels:
"To be clear, ISIS must be destroyed. However, this President has not convinced me, or my constituents, that his proposal will work. I have reservations about his ability to vet the Syrian rebels. And, he has not proven that he has the heart or desire to destroy these terrorists."
Rep. Duffy continued, "despite my reservations, the authority was granted, and now the President has until December 11th -- when it expires -- to come before Congress, present a comprehensive, long-term strategy to defeat ISIS, and convince the American people and me that he is committed to carrying it out."
