Today, Rep. Bill Keating, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, announced a total of $40,575 in Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) for the Brewster Fire Department. This money will go toward the purchase of new personal bailout systems for the department's firefighters.

"As always, it is important to recognize our firefighters and to thank them for the essential responsibilities that they bear every day for us. This funding will help the Brewster Fire Department in providing essential services for our community, and I am honored to do what I can to help those who work so hard to protect us."

"The personal escape devices and associated training that is being funded through the AFG Grant will significantly enhance the safety of each of our firefighters operating on the fireground and will complete our goal of providing our fire suppression staff with the highest quality, state-of-the-art personal protective equipment available in today's market," said Brewster Fire Chief Robert Moran. "Our organization and the residents of our community would like to thank FEMA for recognizing our needs and Congressman Keating and Senator Warren for their unwavering personal support of this application."
