Stutzman Statement on September Jobs Report

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued this statement following the release of September's job numbers.

"While I am pleased the economy added jobs in September, I remain deeply concerned for those who are still looking for work. Right now over 90 million Americans are not participating in the labor force. And many of those who are working are finding it increasingly harder to pay their bills, provide for their families, or save for the future. While the Obama economy has been limping along, it has become clear that out of control spending and an increase in federal regulations do not promote growth.

"Over the past year, we in the House have been busy passing much needed legislation that would cut taxes, roll back costly regulations, and develop sound energy policies that would promote growth and create jobs. Unfortunately, many of these bills are stuck in the Senate.

"The American people deserve an economic environment that will provide them with opportunities to succeed. Going forward, I am hopeful the White House and Senate will put politics aside and work with the House to provide solutions to many of the issues we face."
