COMMUNITY ACTION AWARENESS MONTH MAY 2005
WHEREAS, the North Dakota Community Action Association has seven agencies working statewide to help low-income North Dakotans break the cycle of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, community action agencies have been serving low-income families in every county in North Dakota for more than 30 years; and
WHEREAS, community action agencies provide numerous services to low-income North Dakotans, including Head Start, housing and emergency assistance, child and adult care food programs, energy assistance programs, prevention programs, childcare, and many others; and
WHEREAS, community action agencies, in partnership with the public and private sector, continue to identify poverty conditions and find solutions for helping people and changing lives; and
NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim May 2005, COMMUNITY ACTION AWARENESS MONTH in the state of North Dakota.
