CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH MAY 2005

CHILD SUPPORT WORKER WEEK APRIL 18-22, 2005

WHEREAS, our children are our most precious and valuable resource, and by investing in them, we secure a future of hope and opportunity for us all; and

WHEREAS, the welfare of our children is the most important responsibility we have as parents and a child should be able to rely on parental support; and

WHEREAS, children who receive adequate emotional and financial support from both parents may experience less difficulty in becoming healthy, happy and productive citizens; and

WHEREAS, many concerned and dedicated child support workers, clerks of court, attorneys, referees and judges throughout the state work diligently to establish and enforce child support obligations for more than 60,000 children; and

NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim May 2005, CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH and April 18-22, 2005, CHILD SUPPORT WORKER WEEK in the state of North Dakota.
