Part 3: Obamacare Hurting Women

"If You Want to Keep Your Doctor, You Have to Change Your Congressman"

New York State Senator Lee M. Zeldin, Republican and Conservative Party candidate for Congress in New York's First Congressional District, today released the third of a four part series of statements this week on supporting women's initiatives.

"Women are suffering under Obamacare. Not only are women losing their health insurance plan and doctors, they are also seeing their insurance premiums and out of pocket medical costs rise, and experiencing delayed access to the care they need. The incumbent Congressman continues to support his vote for Obamacare and votes against repealing it, even once saying, "there is nothing not to like about it.'

Yet under Obamacare, there is little progress. Women are faced with reduced hours, slashed benefits and rising costs as a direct response to the employer mandate. Unable to afford health insurance, many businesses are moving full time workers to part time workers in order to avoid providing health insurance to these workers. This is especially threatening to women, who comprise 57.2% of the workforce and control two out of every three health care dollars spent in this country.

Obamacare severely limits women's access to affordable and quality care. It also limits women's choices for their personal health care as well as for their families. It's clear Obamacare is doing more harm than good. We must replace it with a system that is more fair and much more efficient.
