Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01) released the following statement on the 13th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001:

"September 11th is a day that Americans will never forget.

"While we remember the terrible destruction and senseless loss of life, we must honor the courage and resilience that followed. The first responders who ran into the wreckage and spent day and night looking for survivors; the brave souls who stormed a cockpit and thwarted another attack; and the uniting of a nation strong and resolute showed us that no matter whom or what may threaten us, the spirit of the American people will always prevail.

"On this solemn day, we remember those taken from us, and we thank all of the brave men and women who fight to keep our nation safe and free."
