Today Congressman Kevin Cramer released the following statement on the sixth anniversary of TransCanada Corporation submitting its first application for the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, which has yet to be approved by President Obama:
"The Northern Route Approval Act, which would allow construction to move forward without the President's signature, first passed the House of Representatives in May 2013. It has yet to be considered in the U.S. Senate. Yesterday, the House passed this legislation a second time along with 13 other energy bills designed to put America on a path to energy security. The President's refusal to approve a project which would provide jobs, lower energy costs, and reduce the amount of oil traffic on our railroads and highways shows how out of touch he is."
