Ro Khanna Endorsed by Democrats for Education Reform

The Ro for Congress campaign today announced the endorsement of Democrats for Education Reform (DFER). DFER is a national organization, which recently re-launched their California chapter under the leadership of Steve Barr, founder of Green Dot Public Schools, and Joe Boyd, a former union organizer.

"I'm honored to have the support of Democrats for Education Reform. My father, who immigrated to America to study, and my mother, who was a substitute special-education teacher, both raised me with a deep belief in the importance of education," said Ro Khanna. "I was fortunate to attend great public schools before taking out student loans to receive a higher education. Unfortunately, not every child is given the same opportunity that I had. As a member of Congress, I'll fight to change that."

"With Ro's pragmatic and inclusive approach, we're confident that he will be an effective advocate in Congress for raising standards and improving outcomes."

This year, DFER has endorsed senators in competitive elections including Brian Schatz (D-HI), Mark Begich (D-AK), and Mary Landrieu (D-LA), and house members including Jim Clyburn (D-SC), Susan Davis (D-CA), Jared Polis (D-CO), Bobby Scott (D-VA), among others.
