New Hampshire Law Enforcement Groups Endorse Jeanne Shaheen

Today, Senator Jeanne Shaheen was endorsed by the New Hampshire Police Association (NHPA) and the Manchester Police Patrolman's Association (MPPA). In their endorsement, officials from the NHPA and MPPA cited Senator Shaheen's record of supporting New Hampshire law enforcement and partnering with local leaders to keep New Hampshire communities safe.

"Police officers here in New Hampshire put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe," said Shaheen. "I'm proud that I've been able to work with Democrats and Republicans as both Governor and Senator to support our law enforcement officers and keep New Hampshire communities safe."

Tim King of the New Hampshire Police Association. "In Washington, DC, she's fought for additional resources for local police, and here in New Hampshire, she's gone out of her way to be available and hear firsthand what our needs are on the ground. Throughout her career, she's fought for us, so this November, we're fighting for her."

"She's helped law enforcement by strengthening our communities from the ground up, and when we've needed additional resources and support, we've always known that we can count on Jeanne Shaheen. That's why we're supporting her this November."

Jeanne Shaheen has a long record standing up for New Hampshire law enforcement. As Governor, she worked to increase the number of probation and parole officers in New Hampshire, implemented new strategies to reduce highway deaths, and strengthened the state's ability to investigate child abuse and sexual assault cases.

In the Senate, Shaheen fought to expand COPS Hiring Grants, which have put more police on the streets throughout the state including in Concord, Manchester, Franklin, and Rochester. She's pushed for more funding for bulletproof vests to keep officers safe. Shaheen also broke through partisan gridlock to open the Berlin prison, creating hundreds of jobs. And earlier this year, after Officer Steve Arkell was tragically killed in the line of duty, Senator Shaheen worked with Senator Ayotte to pass legislation in the Senate to protect the families of officers killed from unnecessary tax burdens.
