The Indiana Manufacturers Association (IMA) has endorsed Congressman Todd Young for re-election. The IMA announced their decision after a vote by the Executive Committee, which determined the group would be supporting Young in the race for Indiana's 9th Congressional District.
Indiana is known as one of the nation's leading manufacturing states, with more than 30% of the state's economic output and 17% of its workforce attributed to manufacturing. Both figures lead the nation. With the manfucturing industry a pillar of the Hoosier economy, the endorsement of the IMA is a coveted crown of approval across Indiana.
The IMA mentioned Young's efforts to rollback wasteful government spending and shave the national deficit as key reasons for their support. The endorsement release stated, "if the nation's fiscal balance is to be restored, (Young's) continued leadership will be necessary."
Meanwhile, Congressman Young vowed to continue standing up for manufacturers. "It's a great honor to receive this endorsement. The Indiana Manufacturers Association is an organization that represents an industry not only vital to our state's economy, but also epitomizing the industrious spirit of the Hoosier workforce. I will continue fighting for a pro-growth business climate on behalf of Hoosier manufacturers."
