NFIB Names Daines a Guardian of Small Business

Representative Steve Daines was named a "Guardian of Small Business" today by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) which represents 6,000 small businesses across Montana.

The award was based on Daines' "outstanding voting record on behalf of America's small business owners." He received a 100 percent rating on the NFIB's "How Congress Voted" scorecard, consisting of issues decided by NFIB members.

"The record shows that Rep. Daines is a true champion of small business, supporting the votes that matter in the 113th Congress," said Dan Danner, NFIB President and CEO."This award reflects our members' appreciation for supporting the NFIB pro-growth agenda for small business."

"In Montana, we understand that jobs come from small business--not big government. Small businesses form the backbone of our economy, driving innovation and job creation across the country," Daines said. "I'm proud to fight for our small businesses and will continue working so that Montana remains a great place to do business for years to come."

Daines cosponsored several of the small business-supported measures included in the scorecard such as the Northern Route Approval Act, the Save American Workers Act and the Working Families Flexibility Act.

Daines was also given the "Spirit of Enterprise" Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in March for his "commitment to supporting pro-growth policies in the 113th Congress."
