Joni for Senate Releases New 30-Second TV Ad, "Biscuit"

Fat is better in biscuits than budgets, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joni Ernst says in a new television ad hitting Iowa airwaves today. Referring to her previous experience working as a biscuit maker at a fast food restaurant, Joni says Washington politicians need to cut the fat from the federal budget and promises to fight for a balanced budget amendment to stop wasteful spending.

Joni is running for U.S. Senate against Congressman Bruce Braley. During Congressman Braley's 8 years in Congress, he has voted to increase the debt ceiling eight times and the national debt has more than doubled. A new study by the Senate Budget Committee yesterday projected that Congressman Braley's vote for Obamacare would increase the national debt by over $100 billion over the next 10 years.

"When I was working fast food, I learned the key to a great biscuit is lots of fat. The problem is, Washington thinks the same thing about our budget. Runaway spending from both parties is leaving trillions in debt for our children. It's not fair. So I'll fight for a balanced budget amendment to stop wasteful spending. I'm Joni Ernst and I approved this message because it's time Washington learned the difference between a good biscuit, and a good budget."
