Transcript from The Sean Hannity Radio Show:
Sean: I notice that in all these different races that are going on, everybody is running as far away as they can from the president. Is that happening in your race?
Joni: Well, not as far as maybe he would like to. I did hear you say that Michelle Obama was in Iowa campaigning for the Congressman a few days ago.
Sean: But?
Joni: That was great for my campaign!
Sean: Apparently she didn't know his name?
Joni: No. That's one of the first tenants of having someone come in to stump for you. They should really know who you are.
Sean: I would like to invite Joni ERNEST to the podium, she is going to be the next senator from the great state of Iowa.
Joni: Haha
Sean: When the first lady referred to him as "Bailey" instead of "Braley," and said he was a marine, which he's not, I was wondering if she was really thinking of you being a lieutenant colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard? I wonder if that's where the confusion came in?
Joni: It could be. She was very confused and she had to be corrected by the audience on his name. And the fact that he's not a marine. He's never served his nation in the armed forces a single day. I have served over 22 years between the United States Army Reserve and the Iowa Army National Guard. And, again, I absolutely loved serving my state and my nation in that capacity. Running for the United States Senate is just another way that I can serve Iowans.
