Lujan Grisham Endorsed by Alliance for Retired Americans

Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham announced that she was endorsed by the Alliance for Retired Americans for her re-election campaign for Congress. The Alliance for Retired Americans represents more than 4.3 million retirees, older American, and community activists nationwide including 17,673 members in New Mexico.

"I am honored to be endorsed by the Alliance for Retired Americans," said Rep. Lujan Grisham. "Throughout my career, I have fought to protect seniors from abuse and neglect and assure seniors are treated with respect and dignity. In Congress, I've kept my commitment by standing against cuts to Social Security and opposing plans to gut Medicare turning it into a voucher program, forcing seniors to pay thousands more."

In endorsing, the AAR President Barbara Easterling said, "Your positions demonstrate a strong commitment to improve the quality of life for older Americans. Your leadership on issues such as preserving and protecting Social Security and Medicare from privatization and benefit cuts ensures these programs will be around for current and future generations.
