Aguilar Releases New Ad Titled "Good Education"

Pete Aguilar for Congress released its third television ad of the general election today, titled "Good Education". The ad highlights the contrast between Aguilar, who supports increased funding for early childhood education, federal grants for college and student loan reform and his opponent, Republican Paul Chabot, who has advocated for extreme cuts to education that would devastate public schools in favor of tax breaks for millionaires and corporations that ship jobs overseas.

In announcing the ad, Aguilar said, "Every student deserves the opportunity to get a quality education so that they can achieve their dreams. I worked two jobs to get through college, but still needed help from grants and student loans. Cutting education, support for teachers or grants for college to pay for tax breaks for millionaires and corporations is wrong. It hurts students, our economy and is completely out of touch with the values of families in the Inland Empire."

The ad...will begin airing today on cable television stations across the 31st Congressional district.

Script:

Pete: I'm Pete Aguilar, and I approve this message.

Student 1: I'm studying to be a nurse practitioner.

Student 2: I'm studying to be a lawyer.

Student 3: I'm working hard to be an accountant.

Student 4: I'm studying to be a scientist.

Narrator: But Paul Chabot supported a budget that slashed spending for our schools by 19 billion, supports private school vouchers and pledged that he'll protect tax breaks for millionaires and large corporations that ship jobs overseas.

Student 1: Millionaires don't need more tax breaks.

Student 2: But a good education is the only way for me to achieve my dreams.
