Aguilar Releases New Ad Titled "Same Story"

Press Release

Date: Sept. 22, 2014
Location: San Bernardino, CA
Issues: Education

Pete Aguilar for Congress released its second television ad of the general election today, titled "Same Story". The ad highlights that Pete Aguilar was raised in San Bernardino County by a family that worked hard, played by the rules and cared about their community. They did everything they could to pass those values along to Pete who is running for Congress to make sure the next generation of Inland Empire residents can tell that same story to their kids.

In announcing the ad, Aguilar said, "I was fortunate to grow up in a hard working family who taught me that education can make a real difference in people's lives. I worry that the next generation won't have the same educational and employment opportunities that my parents and grandparents worked so hard to give me. I am running for Congress because I will fight to make sure that the promise of a good education and a shot at the middle class is still there for future generations."

The ad...began airing over the weekend on cable television stations across the 31st Congressional district.

Script:

Pete: The same story, told across the Inland Empire -- work hard, get an education, provide a better life for your kids.

My grandfather, who lost his sight, worked in the courthouse cafeteria. My first job was by his side, then I worked my way through college.

But in Washington, they're cutting education to give more tax breaks to big corporations.

That's wrong.

I'm Pete Aguilar and I approve this message so that every child can tell the same story to their grandkids too.

Pete Aguilar is a small business owner and Mayor of Redlands. He is a strong advocate for economic growth and fairness for the middle class in the Inland Empire and a leader who has reached across party lines to serve the best interests of San Bernardino County.
