With Congress now out of Washington until after the November election, voters across all 50 states are bending the ears of their senators and representatives on their thoughts on new military action against the Islamic State overseas.

U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina weighed in on President Obama's plans Tuesday. He told WRHI that he's ready for the call to head back to Washington to formally consider the president's proposal.

"We are still in tune and engaged and asking the president, if necessary, to bring us back for an authorization of the use of force," Scott said. "The job never ends and wherever you are, you had better be working."

Scott was appointed by S.C. Governor Nikki Haley to fill that of former Senator Jim DeMint and will face a statewide election for the first time November 4.

Scott was in Chester County Tuesday, touring the Guardian Glass plant. The manufacturing operation in Richburg has been open since 1988 and employs 350 people.

The 24-hour plant's operations produce the equivalent of 12 miles of 16-foot-wide glass panes each day.
