Latta Delivers Books To Lucas County Jail

Congressman Bob Latta (R-OH) today joined Sheriff John Tharp and Dr. Marion Boss to deliver books to the Lucas County Jail library. On a recent visit to the jail, Latta was informed that there was a limited supply of educationally appropriate books for the inmates. Latta, on behalf of the Lucas County Jail, then contacted the Library of Congress to have appropriate books delivered from its Surplus Books Program.

"A critical component of inmates' rehabilitation is the development of skills that can be transferred to careers upon release," said Latta. "Building the Lucas County Jail's library collection with educationally appropriate books will aid in this effort, and I thank the Library of Congress for generously arranging this donation."
