Stefanik Honors Women Owned Manufacturing in North Country

After touring manufacturing company Miller Mechanical today, Republican and Conservative Party Congressional Nominee Elise Stefanik celebrated the role of women owned businesses in the North Country, and announced the endorsement of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

"Elizabeth Miller is an example of America's entrepreneurial spirit," said Stefanik. "Her commitment to Glens Falls and to the North Country is an inspiration for me, and to countless women in upstate New York."

"To help the North Country succeed, we need to create a better environment for economic growth by lowering taxes and reducing regulatory burdens. I'll be a strong advocate for those policies, if elected, so we start to see more success stories like Miller Mechanical."

"Higher taxes and overregulation are hurting our ability to grow and to manufacture in the U.S," said Elizabeth Miller.

"The cost of compliance is extremely burdensome particularly for a small company in upstate NY. We need to reexamine all regulations, keep those that are useful and pertinent and jettison the ones that are no longer worthwhile."

"Since the current national health care law was enacted, our current insurance provider no longer was able to offer the current insurance policy, and we were forced to buy a more expensive policy to cover our employees. There are almost 50 Federal agencies regulating our business. As a small business we want to work smarter not harder, I believe Federal and State governments need to do the same," Miller added.

Stefanik today also accepted the endorsement of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
