Stefanik Launches New TV Ad: "Commitment" on Social Security/Medicare for North Country Seniors

Press Release

Date: Oct. 10, 2014
Location: Glens Falls, NY

Republican and Conservative Party Congressional Nominee Elise Stefanik today launched a new television ad outlining her commitment to protect and preserve Social Security and Medicare programs for our seniors.

The new thirty-second ad, called "Commitment," begins running District wide today.

Stefanik has offered commonsense reforms that ensure no changes to Social Security or Medicare for North Country seniors. Aaron Woolf has failed to offer any proposals for modernizing and protecting these programs for future generations.

In published reports, a former public trustee for Medicare and Social Security has called Mr. Woolf's position insufficient and irresponsible. "It's not responsible to just say, "We'll grow the economy.' That's not Social Security reform. Something's going to have to be done sooner or later…" (http://goo.gl/jCIDpr)

TRANSCRIPT:

STEFANIK: I'm Elise Stefanik and I approve this message.

SENIORS: So do we.

STEFANIK: One of the most important issues is that we protect and preserve Medicare and Social Security for our seniors.

These are programs that you have paid into, and that you've earned.

For those who are in or near retirement there will be no changes to Social Security or Medicare.

I've committed to that since day one of the campaign trail.

My opponent has no proposal to modernize these programs so that they exist for my generation and your grandchildren's.
