Meeting with a roomful of Democrats on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Carol Ammons for state representative campaign, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin said his "coordinated campaign" for Democratic candidates statewide is working.

"The numbers are starting to come in, and the numbers are good," Durbin told about 50 Democratic enthusiasts crammed into a small room at the office on University Avenue in Champaign. "I will tell you that what we're finding around the state is that everyone is pitching in."
