Governor Hassan Announces Eight New Hampshire Companies Receive Job Training Grants in September

Continuing her efforts to help New Hampshire workers develop the skills and innovative thinking necessary for success in the 21st century economy, Governor Maggie Hassan announced today that eight New Hampshire companies have been awarded job training grants to help them train 283 workers in new skills.

The job training grants total $178,840, and the companies contributed $183,672 in matching funds to bring the total amount for training workers to $362,512.

"I am excited to announce this latest round of critical grants to help prepare workers for success in good jobs at New Hampshire's growing businesses," said Governor Hassan. "New Hampshire's job training fund is a valuable resource that has helped provide essential skills to thousands of workers. We must maintain our commitment to higher education and job training in order to support job-creating businesses, expand middle class opportunity and keep our economy moving in the right direction."

-Velcro USA Inc. of Manchester received a grant of up to $29,489 for 60 employees to receive training in advanced Microsoft project tools and project manager from Skillpath and Cadence.

A grant of $8,095 was awarded to McLean Communications of Manchester for 12 employees to receive DiSC and team-building training from Cogent Solutions.

-TF Moran of Bedford received a Job Training Fund grant of $10,850 for 28 employees to receive management, OSHA 10/First Aid and CAD-3D training, using Cultural Chemistry, Manchester Community College and Microdesk as trainers.

-TechniCoil LLC of Wolfeboro received a grant of up to $13,200 to train five employees in coil winding.

-Law Logistics LLC of Nashua received a grant of up to $5,500 for training three employees in ISO 9001 with the New Hampshire Manufacturing Partnership.

-Methuen Construction of Salem received a grant of $54,769 and will train 106 workers in a variety of construction trade skills, including hydraulic specialist certification, welding inspection certification, AutoCAD fundamentals and construction financial management.

-Seabrook International LLC of Seabrook received a grant of $7,865 for Babson College and CrestCom to train six employees in leadership and management skills.

-PixelMedia, LLC of Portsmouth received a grant of $49,072 for 63 employees to receive software, security, server, developer, leadership, management, SEO and interactive-accessibility training from UNH Professional Development, SHRM, Demandware, Bocoup, UXPA Boston, New Horizons and others.

The Job Training Fund has awarded $7,354,185.64 in grants since October 2007, with employers contributing $9,992,088.61 for a total of $17,346,274.25 in new training for 21,942 New Hampshire workers.
